Home Cost Lab

Terms of Use

Owner-review draft terms for using Home Cost Lab’s browser-based household calculators and educational guides.

Purpose and permitted use

Home Cost Lab provides browser-based household calculators and general educational guides for preliminary planning. You may use the tools for personal or internal planning, subject to applicable law. The website is not a utility provider, supplier, contractor, engineer, inspector or professional-advice service.

Inputs, formulas and estimates

You are responsible for entering measurements, units, use schedules, rates, product coverage and other assumptions that suit your situation. The displayed formulas are simplified estimates and may not represent real operating cycles, site conditions, taxes, fees, local billing rules, product instructions or a complete project scope. Results are not bills, quotes, designs, guarantees or promises of savings.

Verify important decisions

Check important energy and water costs against current bills and meter data; confirm quantities with product labels, suppliers and the actual installation plan; and confirm permits, construction methods and safety with appropriate local professionals. Do not rely on a calculator alone for a safety-critical, engineering, financial commitment or contract decision.

Availability and corrections

The site and its content may be corrected, updated or unavailable at times. The owner has not supplied service-level commitments, an incident contact or an operator identity, so none is promised here. Use the Contact Us form to report a suspected calculation issue; submitted messages are stored in the private administration inbox.

External tools and contact

The Contact Us form stores visitor-submitted name (optional), reply email, subject, message, language and submission time in a private administration inbox; the owner’s email is not published. If valid Gmail SMTP credentials are configured and accepted by Google, Google processes a brief alert without the message body or visitor email; if delivery fails, the message remains in the private inbox. The full message remains in the inbox until the owner deletes it; no automatic retention schedule is configured. See the owner-review Privacy Policy for details. Site analytics are disabled. The application includes a gated AdSense loader, disabled by default; if the owner enables real account settings, it loads only when this browser allows advertising. This technical preference gate does not establish legal or certified-CMP compliance. A Manus platform script previously initiated Amplitude requests during the 31 October 2026 audit; the platform badge scripts were hidden afterward and no Amplitude requests were found in repeat checks. Hosting or CDN processing may still occur; see the owner-review Privacy Policy for the observed data fields and unresolved platform details.

Administrator access

The private administration workspace is available only to the owner and users who receive an authorized invitation. Administrator sign-in is available through Manus OAuth or password credentials configured for an invited account. Password setup or reset uses the linked Manus OAuth account; Manus may accept an existing signed-in session without prompting for another password. Email reset and mailbox-verification messages are not enabled. Administrative actions may be recorded to operate and secure the site. Public visitors cannot create an account or use the administration features. Do not share an invitation link or use access that you were not authorized to receive; the owner may change or revoke administrative access.

Limits of responsibility where permitted by law

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator does not promise that the site or its estimates will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete or suitable for a particular decision, and is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the estimates. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that applicable law does not permit to be excluded or limited. The owner must have this wording reviewed for the actual operator and jurisdiction before removing the draft notice.

Owner review required

These terms remain a draft because the legal operator, applicable jurisdiction, governing law, contact route, intellectual-property permissions, dispute process and any jurisdiction-specific limitations have not been verified. The owner must review the actual services and obtain suitable legal review before removing the draft notice. No owner, address or legal venue is invented here.
